HCI 600 Topic 3 Health Care Legislation Education Presentation GCU

Imagine leadership within your organization has asked you to research a new piece of legislation, mandate, or policy to
determine what impact it may have on the EHR and clinical documentation in your practice environment. You have been
asked to provide education on the legislation and ramifications of accompanying changes. Create a PowerPoint
presentation on the selected legislation or policy in your state that will affect the clinical environment, data collection,
and the EHR. You may select legislation that was recently passed or a pending piece of legislation. Review “Frequently
Asked Questions: 2018 Arizona Opioid Epidemic Act” as an example of a piece of legislation for the state of Arizona.
After you have chosen the legislation and performed the necessary research, create an 8-10-slide educational PowerPoint
addressing the following:
Summarize the key components and purpose of the selected legislation or policy.
Explain the impact the legislation/policy will likely have on the EHR, clinical documentation, and the clinical
environment.
Identify the primary challenges of implementing the changes and recommend solutions for overcoming those
challenges for your organizations.
Include speaker notes and references.

Prokaryotic cells are very simple, like bacteria. Prokaryotic cells tend to be less organized and more primitive, whereas eukaryotic cells like our skin, liver, and brain cells benefit from the complexity of organization and compartmentalization. Although simple, prokaryotic cells like bacteria are not compartmentalized like human and animal cells, but they seem to function as they need to. Bacteria have been around for millions of years and survive in the harshest of conditions. Is being complex always beneficial? Use the search terms “eukaryotic” or “prokaryotic” at  The Scientist site  and find a recent discovery to share with your classmates. Summarize the article and compare/contrast the articles findings with those of your classmates. ...

Recent discoveries about life forms in extreme environments have renewed scientists’ interest in looking for life elsewhere. Organisms that thrive in a wide variety of harsh conditions –called extremophiles—are broadening scientists’ understanding of the diverse environmental conditions life can withstand. Scientists have had to modify their theories and expand their view of what types of environments are habitable based on the new information presented by the existence of extremophiles. Watch the following 1.5 minute NOVA video on extremophiles.
